Day Camp

We had Day camp earlier in June.  The Second week of school being out.  It was fun to just go and spend the day with Seth and his age group.  We have some great boys in there right now.  Not that all the boys haven't been great.  It's just that this group are a little more obedient than past groups.  Here's a few of the pictures of all the fun we had.

The boys in the paddle raft

Mining for gold

"Look Mom, I found one, well at least a painted rock."

Shooting arrows

Pulling the handcart.

It was great to spend the day with Seth, I wasn't feeling too yucky as long as I kept eating granola bars.  It's amazing how you don't feel quite as yucky when you don't have time to think about it. (I'm not saying you don't feel it at all, just not quite as bad).  Hopefully this will be my last day camp!  If so it was a great one!

Seth earned his wolf!

Seth has now earned his wolf.  He is such a go getter.  From day one he was trying to pass everything he could off.  He wanted to do every project and just get-er-done.  I love that about Seth.  I've sturggled with helping him though.  With having to get things done for Bears I haven't helped my boys like I should be.  It's a good thing they are pretty responsible!  Good Job Seth.  We are so proud of you now lets earn as many arrow points as you can before you get to come and be with me in Bears!

Bird Feeders

We made bird feeders in Bears a couple weeks ago. I knew the birds would be starting to fly through but I was really skeptical as to whether or not birds would actually use the feeders but I looked out the other morning and they were not only eating from it they were sitting inside it! I had to take pictures since the boys were at school. The girls sure did love watching the birds though.

Scout Projects

Seth has been so into scouts. He had his bobcat earned the day after his birthday and has been working on all sorts of electives and anything he thinks would be fun. One day he wanted to build a card holder so he got Steve and out they went. The had it built in no time flat and then Damen saw and was jealous so he had the idea to build the Lombardi trophy (that's the super bowl trophy for those of you like me who didn't know). So he and Steve set to work. They got all done and Damen knew that it had to have the NFL symbol on it so that was my job. Out came the dremmel and we carved away. It turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. The football sits nice right on top. I have yet to take pictures of Seth's card holder, maybe sometime.

Pinewood Derby

Oh I am so behind in blogging. But I hate uploading photos so, then I do all my catch up at once. Why oh Why do I procrastinate? Oh well I'm doing it now! We had the Pinewood Derby a couple weeks ago. They boys had a lot of fun making their cars. Steve helped to make 3 cars this year. We cheated a little bit and got a pre-cut one for Damen and Kenyan (boy in the ward), but I think Steve had the most fun making Seths truck (with a bed and lots of detail work thanks to my dremil and even jacked up). Yea Seth still has 6 months before he's in but he couldn't be left out of all the fun!

More Scout Projects

Steve was in charge of coming up with an activity for Pack Meeting. The theme: "Spring Into Action" and after having worked on their fitness award all month long this is what they came up with:

Tennis ball throw: 1 piece of candy if you hit the board 10 pieces if you get it through the hole is what they told the boys you should have heard the cheers, only problem was the tennis ball was too big for the hole

Hit the ball in the golf hole (it ended up being pretty hard for the boys so they got a piece of candy for just trying. That also brought a lot more kids to this line because they knew that they could get candy no matter what!

Here's Seth hitting the ball into the hole
