Well my computer is finally working thanks to my brother-in-law and thanks to a new modem! So now I have over 6 months of pictures to post. Are you ready? Hear comes picture overload.
Back in October Steve took Damen and Seth (and Uncle Rob went as well) back to the Notre Dame vs. BYU game. They had been planning this trip for a couple of years. They figured while they were back there they would also get their NFL game in for the season. Since it is tradition that they go to an NFL game ever year. They flew back to Chicago on Thursday the 18th. They boys were so excited for this because they never remember flying on a plane, though both of them had before.
Damen got a BYU shirt as an early b-day present. Oh the excitement!
Walking onto the plane.
The next day was Damen's birthday so they went and had a birthday breakfast with real bacon. Our kids don't like real bacon, they like turkey bacon. So it's a complaint when they have to have the real stuff. Poor picked on kids. After that they were off to see the college football Hall of Fame as well as walk around Notre Dame
After they got soaked through to the bone they took a little drive up to Niles Michigan so that Steve could show the boys parts of where he served his mission.
Saturday the clouds parted for a while and they were off to enjoy the BYU game. They went and did some of the tailgate thing and walked around campus a little more and then went and settled in to watch the game. BYU ended up loosing by three but they still had a great time. They even ended up on TV. Probably because Damen had packed his big hand showing the #1.
This is Steve's favorite picture of the whole trip. He had gone to the stadium as a young missionary with hopes of someday taking his own kids there, Now many years later he was fulfilling that dream with his two boys who both love football, maybe even more than he does.
The next day took them to Indianapolis to watch a Colts game. The colts used to be one of Damen's favorite teams until Payton Manning was traded to the Broncos. But they went and bought all their gear and were off to the Civil War Museum and then to the game.
After the game they headed over to the Indianapolis 500 race track. It had just closed but they had a good look around before heading off towards Navoo
They drove half way to Navoo on Sunday and went the rest of the way on Monday they really enjoyed seeing the sights and especially going to Carthage. It was a quick trip down but I think it was worth it for the kids to see the things they saw and feel the things they felt.
That night they drove back towards Chicago and flew out the next day. This was definitely a trip they will never forget. And now they are already planning their trip for next year.
