Seth turns 9

I am still so behind and am only getting further and further behind.  If only it didn't take 2 hours to upload photos!  But Seth turned 9 back in June.  He had a great birthday.  This year he was able to have a birthday party so we invited over a bunch of kids and just had fun playing in the backyard with water balloons and a slip and slide.  All the kids loved it.

His present came a couple days before his birthday.  He was so excited for a new bike and one that will finally hold up to everything he does to them!

Seth and a friend on the home made slip and slide.  Can I just say it was so much cheaper and lasted so much longer than the little ones you buy at the store!

Opening presents

He continues to show his rebellion by going with Utah and so he chose a Utah cake.  I think it turned out pretty good even if it was for Utah!

He's pleased with it as well if you can't tell

We ended the party by shooting rockets.  All the boys loved this.  It was probably one of their most favorite things about the party.  This rocket shooter has gotten more use over the past year.  I'm definitly glad we put a few dollars into it it's always the hit of the party.

Oh how we love our Seth.  Our stubborn, sensitive, outgoing, friendly, ornary, easy going, tries to please, loving, cuddly, athletic Seth.  He's growing so much and maturing quickly.  I'm amazed at his determination to learn new things and to conquere the hard things.  He's done that with soccer this year.  He couldn't dribble the ball even 2-3 times at the first of the summer and he came home last night from practice and had beat everyone on his team with the highest number of 16.  He is always outside working hard to get better.

I love how well he gets along with his sisters and brother.  He loves them so much, sometimes too much and he ends up getting into trouble by not stopping the wrestling or tickling but he his a great brother.  He's doing well in school and just plain continuew to be our great boy.  We love him so much.  Happy Birthday Bud!

Day Camp

We had Day camp earlier in June.  The Second week of school being out.  It was fun to just go and spend the day with Seth and his age group.  We have some great boys in there right now.  Not that all the boys haven't been great.  It's just that this group are a little more obedient than past groups.  Here's a few of the pictures of all the fun we had.
The boys in the paddle raft

Mining for gold

"Look Mom, I found one, well at least a painted rock."

Shooting arrows

Pulling the handcart.

It was great to spend the day with Seth, I wasn't feeling too yucky as long as I kept eating granola bars.  It's amazing how you don't feel quite as yucky when you don't have time to think about it. (I'm not saying you don't feel it at all, just not quite as bad).  Hopefully this will be my last day camp!  If so it was a great one!

Park City

The first in June we decided to take the kids up to Park City for a little get away.  The rates are so low since it's after ski season but before the summer season hits.  We had such a great time.  I wasn't feeling too hot on the last day but really all in all we had such a great time just getting away and being together as a family.  One of the things we did was go to the Olympic Park.  We had never been there before and the kids loved every minute of it.

All the kids had to have their picture taken with the cut out skier.  Fun thing is that someday, probably sooner than later my boys are going to look like this going down the mountain.  Sad thing is I will probably never see it since skiing scares the bajiebies out of me.

The kids loved seeing these but the funner part was watching the skiers doing tricks into the pool.  I would post those videos but I'm just grateful it's accepting these pictures and allowing me to post them, I'm not going to tempt fate by trying to post a video yet.

Another favorite part was going swimming in the motel pool.  We spent half the afternoon out swimming and had a great time
On the way home we stopped at this hill  veterans memorial in Midway.  The kids had fun taking lots of pictures.  By this time I was feeling a little doozy so I really didn't care what they were doing.

Steve decided to really send me over the top and took us on the dirt road over to Cascade Springs.  It was nice to get out and walk around for a bit, to keep my breakfast in my tummy.  It really is so beautiful up there.  There was even one part where there were hundreds of little butterflies.  The kids thought that was pretty cool.

I don't know why I'm such a sucker for pictures like this but I am, probably because it's a good representation on how much I love these two and what an amazing dad Steve is to our kids.

I've been trying to come back

I know I haven't posted in quite some time.  But a few things have happened since then.  Biggest thing:  We got pregnant and I've felt like CRAP!  Sorry, I've always hated that word but seem to be using it more and more lately, probably because that's how I feel!

We have done things over the summer but for the most part I haven't felt well.  We found out over Memorial weekend that we were expecting and since then I have had no energy or desire to do much of anything.  I forced myself to get the kids out of the house over the summer by purchasing a pool pass, because by darn if I'm going to spend money on something I am going to take full advantage of it.  It did help to get out of the house.

But we have had so much fun and done so many things that now I want to document all of it but now I am way behind on this whole blog thing.  I tried to start downloading pictures the second week the kids were back in school and guess what something is up with my computer and I haven't been able to upload anything to blogher or email or ksl or anything.  It's so frustrating especially since that is what I want on this blog is all the scrapbooking memories that I will never put into a scrapbook.  So I will try to continue to figure this whole computer thing out, but am tempted to just go buy a new computer and get a new internet service, since I don't care for the one I have right now, we'll see what happens.  But I really have to get on top of all this before this new baby comes in Jan and I will want to post cute pictures of HER.  Well we'll try to do more later I'm trying as I write to download pictures we'll see if it works.  Here's to hoping!

R.A.D.D. Kids

During P.E. in third grade the kids participate in R.A.D.D. Kids.  It basically teaches the kids how to defend themselves agains strangers and teaches them all about stranger danger and all that good stuff.  Well at the end of the program they let the parents come and watch the kids show their stuff.  Steve promised Seth that if he could get the police officer down he would give him $100.  Well he didn't quite get him down but he sure was beating on him.  I just wish my camera hadn't run out of memory before he finished.  Oh well.  You'll get the gist of it.

stupid video won't upload maybe later.

Kenna with the ducks

We went to the duck pond the other day and while the boys went to find the waterfall the girls and I stayed back to feed the ducks.  But the ducks didn't want food, they must have been full already so Kenna just started eating their food for them.  All the old old bread we brought for the ducks was consumed by Kenna until I refused to give her anymore.  But look at a few of the cute shots I snapped of her.  There are times she can be photogenic, just not when I normally want her to be!  Oh but I love her and I just love those cute curls.

This was her dancing around for the ducks.  She always kicks that little left leg out when she dances and it's so stinkin' cute!

Day at the Farm

Kate (cousin) loves animals and for her birthday she invited Railey and Kenna to go to the farm at Thanksgiving Point.  The kids loved it.  All the new little babies had recently been born and it was fun to see them, hang out with cousins and have a little picnic.  Railey loved riding the ponies.  Kenna tolerated it.  I think she may have enjoyed it but was so worried about staying on that her face didn't show any enjoyment.

So excited!

So focused!

Even more excited!

All the cousins minus Claire who was asleep

On the hay ride!

Kenna loved the hay ride and look she can smile, as long as she doesn't know you're taking a picture.

I thought this was so precious.  See the little lambs, I especially love the one on it's momma's back, much softer than the dirt.
