McKenna is now two months old! Holy Cow where has the time gone? She is now up to 14 lbs. I think that's the smallest. All the rest of the kids were at least 15 lbs by two months. She continues to get cuter and the cheeks chubbier. I am starting to see a little bit of Seth in her but not as much as everyone else can see. She continues to sleep through the night thank heavens and she is starting to make little gurgling sounds which is super cute and she is starting to smile all the time. She also loves the song "Beautiful Kenna"and always smiles during that. For some reason she is much better at posing for pictures right now than Railey is (next post). We sure do love her and are so glad she decided to come join us.

At last!
Kenna has now slept through the night the last two nights in a row. I was going to blog about it yesterday but didn't want it to jinx last night. It didn't though because she slept another 8 hours last night. I was starting to get a little perturbed because both Seth and Railey were sleeping through the night at 5 weeks. I took Kenna 2 weeks longer but she was also my smallest maybe that has something to do with it. Who knows, I'm just glad to be getting some sleep.

One Month Old
Well Kenna is growing fast. One month has already come and now gone. I asked Steve what I have accomplished in a month, cause I don't feel like I have accomplished anything, he said "well you've made her cheeks a lot bigger." Great I'm know for making my kids weigh more. Too bad I'm know for the same thing for myself! She does weigh 12 lbs now so she has gained about 3 1/2 and 2 of those in the last week! I put a picture of when she was born and then some of now so you can see how chubby she is getting.

9 months, 3 weeks in the planning
Yesterday we blessed McKenna. It was a beautiful day and great to have everyone come and support her and us. We were sad that some family couldn't make it but the house was so full I don't know where we would have put anyone else. We have always done these things in warmer weather, thus being able to send kids outside, but not this time.
Steve puts so much time and preparation into the blessing (Oh I love that man). He stews and frets over it from the day she is born if not from the day she was conceived. But here is some of what she was blessed with (thanks to Amy for writing it down):
*a strong and healthy body
*that the virtues and traits that you developed with Heavenly Father will continue to develop including virtue, beauty, grace, and charity.
*a deep peaceful assurance that Heavenly Father keeps promises... it will sustain and help as you keep the covenants of the preparatory gospel and the everlasting gospel it will have a purifying luminous effect as you walk through the fiery darts of the adversary
* strong determination to do all you were sent to do.
*Gift of optimism and joy through life
*see good in all situations
*example to self and others that all experiences are for our good and bless us in this life.
Here are a few pictures, I forgot to get the camera out until the end so I didn't get to many and then when I did Kenna was mad and hungry (I still need to get one of her in her dress.

My Kenna
All the kids are fighting over Kenna. They all want their turn so we literally are setting a clock and not going a second over their time. Damen wants her all the time which is cute. He could sit there forever just holding her. Seth wants her for a little bit at a time but then often and Railey just wants her and especially cause everyone else wants her. Steve and Grandma aren't really getting any turns and the turns I get are because she wants food.
It has been a little cute and frustrating to say the least. But this morning it all made up for it when Railey was holding her. She always calls her "Baby" She knows her name is Kenna but will never say McKenna. This morning while holding her she kept saying "Ma"Kenna. We were so proud of her and thought "Oh yes she's finally getting it". That was until we realized that she was saying "My" Kenna, no one else is allowed to touch her when Railey has her.

Iris McKenna James
Well we were scheduled to be induced on Sunday morning but around 3 in the morning I started to have contractions and by 5 they were about 5 minutes apart so I woke Steve up and we headed in to Provo. We got hooked up to the epidural as fast as they would do it and then everything was wonderful. We sat and talked and laughed and felt NO pain! An hour later our doctor came in said I was now at an 8 and he broke my water and within 45 minutes I was pushing out our little McKenna. She is definitely our smallest in weight and height. Born at 9:10 am 8 lbs, 7 oz and 20 inches long. We are still shocked by how dark her hair is especially after looking at Railey all the time. Here are some pictures of our little one and the family who loves her lots!
